The Assignment
NAOT Shoes of Canberra is a part of ‘The Healthy Foot’ – Dickson Podiatry and Footwear.
They are the regional suppliers of NAOT Shoes from Israel. NAOT was founded when the members of Kibbutz NAOT Mordechai founded the kibbutz shoe factory in 1942 as a one-room workshop. NAOT is now Israel’s leading manufacturer and exporter of shoes.
The alignment between the NAOT shoes and the Healthy Foot is that their shoes are ‘Orthotic friendly’!
To establish NAOT’s presence, they required an e-Commerce site for online sales and a site which provided an online catalogue to support the showroom in Canberra at ‘The Healthy Foot‘. Our role was to:
- Design and develop the e-Commerce solution,
- Deploy the solution,
- Support the online shoe store and its future growth.
Our Approach
Our approach for this assignment was to:
- capture the requirements for the e-commerce platform,
- determine the appropriate e-commerce solution and integrations to online payment systems,
- design and build the system and implement integrations,
- provide on-going support for sustainment and growth of the online shoe store.
The Design
It was key to have some alignment of the visual aspects of the site to the physical store/showroom at the Healthy Foot. We introduced the NAOT story to the site so people can develop a relationship with the brand. The NAOT brand is fairly new to Australia and the region.
This was accomplished by using videos provided by NAOT and placing them strategically on the site.
Website tools were developed to allow site visitors to get to know the brand for example, downloading the NAOT Story and the Sizing Chart. Each product has a detailed description with photos to help people understand the type of shoe they are interested in buying along with sizes, colours and styles.
The Result
The website is growing as more people are searching for high-quality shoes that suit their individual needs. Besides the growth of online sales, there are more people coming directly to the showroom to try on shoes. By the way, NAOT means ‘Oasis’.
